Integrated
Audio Systems Theater Sound Systems begin with our on site acoustics
measurements to determine optimum loudspeaker selection and
location. While on site our designers meet with client
representatives to determine functional requirements and acceptable
performance parameters for the new system. Upon returning to our
office we utilize three dimensional computer aided room modeling to
assure the optimum loudspeakers can be
chosen for the acoustics of the space. Our designs utilize Ray
Tracing and Early Reflection models, Sound pressure level calculations
for direct and reverberant field conditions over a seven-octave range,
Gain before feedback and Articulation Loss of Consonants (ALCons).
Complete documentation, system tuning, and operations classes and on
site warranty are provided.
The
unique requirements of theater sound systems include the requirement for
high quality speech intelligibility, source orientation across the stage
area, stereo capability in Left, Center, Right configuration. Full
range, wide bandwidth speakers capable of moderate to high sound
pressure levels are also important for this type of application.
Sources generally involve multiple wireless microphones, orchestra pit
instrument inputs, downstage microphone inputs, overhead recording
microphone inputs and cassette, CD or broadcast cart inputs. Monitor
speakers and in-ear-monitors are normally used for all actors in lead
roles. System outputs are often matrix mixed to different seating
zones, based on the requirement of the mix.
